Report: Broken Heart Might Have Contributed To PUDDLE OF MUDD Singer's Bizarre Behavior

February 25, 2004

PUDDLE OF MUDD frontman Wes Scantlin's failed relationship with top model Rachel Hunter may have contributed to his bizarre behavior (Windows Media) at a Toledo, Ohio concert venue Sunday night, according to ic NorthLondonOnline.

According to the report, Hunter gave Scantlin "the elbow" claiming the split was due to "hectic work schedules".

A spokesman for Hunter told the Daily Mirror: "Yes, she and Wes have split up. Their schedules were so busy that in the end it just fizzled out.

"It happened before Christmas but it wasn't a very serious relationship anyway."

The couple had been together since last February when Rachel split from Robbie Williams.

Wes has previously said of Hunter, "She's very, very awesome. I don't like to discuss the details but we're together, and she's really sweet and beautiful, and she's an awesome, awesome chick."

As previously reported, Scantlin was arrested Sunday after cutting the band's set short in Toledo and announcing he was too wasted to play. He was charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication, criminal mischief and misconduct involving a public transportation system. All three charges are misdemeanors. Scantlin was released on a cash bond of $150 and was scheduled to be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Tuesday (Feb. 24).
